1864 The Sea Captain�s House

1864-The Sea Captain�s House designed by PATSIOS architects, is one of the few places to stay in Santorini, Greece where you truly get the feeling you are in a real house. The two-storey mansion is partly caved into the cliff, while its facade is a combination of renaissance inspired upper level, made out of dark volcanic stone and a more traditional, island style lower level, washed in a creamy colour. It had been abandoned for several years before the couple of interior designers Jan and Kathy Smits of Pas- Partoe decided to purchase it. Country Living: House of the Year...

Country Living presented their 2012 House of the Year building project, Room to Spare, in New York City's World Financial Center from May 17-23 {We had just missed it; we went up on the 26th}. This year's project is a first for the magazine. And rather than one house, they featured three micro-cottages, all styled by Country Living editor, guest designers, and experts. I love how they turned out!
