The black jewel, An old rectory for Pas-Partoe design

BEAUTIFUL RESTORED TRULLI IN PUGLIA, ITALY

A traditional dry stone hut with a conical roof. This style of construction is specific to the Itria Valley, in the Murge area of the Italian region of Puglia. Trulli (plural) were generally constructed as temporary field shelters and storehouses or as permanent dwellings by small proprietors or agricultural laborers. This house is beautifully restored by Azzurra Garzone Architects . Only traditional materials such as stone and lime have been used. Also the interior is in line with traditions.The walls are whitewashed in lime, and the flooring is made from chianche stone from the area.
