BEAUTIFUL RESTORED TRULLI IN PUGLIA, ITALY

A traditional dry stone hut with a conical roof. This style of construction is specific to the Itria Valley, in the Murge area of the Italian region of Puglia. Trulli (plural) were generally constructed as temporary field shelters and storehouses or as permanent dwellings by small proprietors or agricultural laborers. This house is beautifully restored by Azzurra Garzone Architects . Only traditional materials such as stone and lime have been used. Also the interior is in line with traditions.The walls are whitewashed in lime, and the flooring is made from chianche stone from the area. 1864-The Sea Captain�s House designed by PATSIOS architects, is one of the few places to stay in Santorini, Greece where you truly get the feeling you are in a real house. The two-storey mansion is partly caved into the cliff, while its facade is a combination of renaissance inspired upper level, made out of dark volcanic stone and a more traditional, island style lower level, washed in a creamy colour.
